o4b will exchange ideas with another German car manufacturer about Identity Management software solutions
2008-04-11
o4b plans a workshop with a major German car manufacturer in summer of 2008. The main topics will be various issues of the Identity Management System and the evaluation of the potential for the business optimisation process as well the utilisation of the b2b portal from the car manufacturers´ suppliers point of view.
The authentication and authorization processes on the B2B portal are required by many suppliers worldwide. The B2B portals of the German car manufacturers play a specific role amongst the major OEM portals as far as the technical features are concerned. open4business and the German car manufacturers are planning for this reason a workshop to exchange ideas concerning the potential for business process optimisation, and to analyse possible new ways for the standardization of these processes. Both sides, the car manufacturers and their suppliers develop technical and procedural solutions to minimise the risk and the expense for the use of customer portals. open4business offers their technical solution for the suppliers, the User Access Manager, which is a structured process for authentication and authorization procedure. In order to simplify the administration and the login procedure of the supplier on the OEM Portals, the car manufacturers now need to address the question of a standardized interface. It would be desirable to use the "Odette UAM XML” standards or at least an interface for a single sign-on solution. open4business is well known amongst many automotive suppliers as a competent partner for such interfaces and for this reason, o4b will be the driving force behind the goal for the standardization of this technical solution in 2009.
