User Access Manager
Who developed the User Access Manager (UAM)?
User Access Manager was developed by the software company open4business GmbH, in close collaboration with ZF Friedrichshafen AG, and is customized for the needs of the automobile supplier industry. Because today many automobile companies are controlling their supply chain with enterprise portals, the software solution “User Access Manager” from o4b is successfully in use at ZF Friedrichshafen since 2002.
What is UAM?

Apart from an extensive reporting system ,different organisational structures can also be determined in the User Access Manager and any number of hierarchical structures can be developed.
The User Access Manager offers a drastic reduction of the costs in the administration of customer portals by comprehensive automation and standardisation of access and  information processes. The User Access Manager guarantees thereby a high transparency and monitoring of all procedures.
Why UAM?
Because of numerous changes such as promotion, dismissals or team changes- , it is not always possible to associate all  identities with  one employee, which creates a general and  overall security risk.

Four hours or even up to 30 days - that is the span that companies need in order to be able to close an unauthorized access according to a study by a market research institute in  Aberdeen  regarding Identity and Access Management in different industries,. Furthermore the results show that only one third of the companies have not closed their inactive accounts. Beyond that some companies have not even defined processes, in order to determine whether accounts have become at all redundant. But „the class-best “and  that are the very successful companies – according to the market study - are characterised by the fact that they are now using a  roll-based identity and access management system
